The  Greater Luwero Investment Forum (GLIF) is a platform  comprised of the three districts of Luwero, Nakaseke. It brings together industrialists, investors, entrepreneurs, and key stakeholders (government MDAs and private) to discuss and promote sustainable development initiatives in the region.  Established in March 2025, the GLIF serves as a non-governmental and nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering inclusive and sustainable development across the Greater Luwero region.

Some of the key activities of the GLIF are its Annual Investment Expo and  Conference which serve as  significant gatherings for stakeholders to engage in discussions on development strategies, opportunities Corporate social responsibility as well as factory sales.

GLIF is not the first of its kind, Uganda is home to several regional development forums that focus on specific areas of the country and have achieved big milestones. For example, the South Western Regional Development Forum (SWRDF) aims to increase investments that enhance production, productivity, savings, employment, and wealth creation in the southwestern region. Similarly, the Northern Uganda Regional Development Forum (NURDEF) is a collaborative effort that brings together multiple districts, cities, and municipal councils to support the development of Northern Uganda which it has successfully delivered.

These forums, including the GLIF, play a crucial role in promoting dialogue, collaboration, and strategic planning among various regional stakeholders to achieve sustainable regional development  and the entire Uganda.

Our Upcoming Programs

The expo will be held over three days, from 7TH - 09TH |JUNE 2025. The expo will take place at the Kasana- Luwero Ground which will be equipped with exhibition booths, stages for panel discussions, and adequate facilities for attendees and exhibitors.

Key Activities

  1. Annual GLIF Conference and Mini Exhibition
    This flagship event will bring together key stakeholders, including local governments, business leaders, investors, and community representatives, to discuss regional development strategies and investment opportunities. It will also feature a mini-exhibition to showcase local businesses, products, and innovations.                                                     
  2. Investment Forums/Expos and Networking Events
    GLIF will organize quarterly investment forums paired with an annual Expo to connect local entrepreneurs and investors. These events will allow businesses to pitch ideas, showcase progress, seek investment, and establish partnerships that can lead to new economic opportunities in the region.
  1. Capacity Building Workshops and Training Programs
    Regular workshops will focus on topics such as entrepreneurship, wealth creation, financial management, sustainable agriculture, and technological innovation. These workshops will be designed to equip local businesses with the skills and knowledge they need to grow and thrive.
  1. Public-Private-Community Dialogue
    GLIF will facilitate discussions between public sector leaders (local governments, policymakers), private sector representatives (business owners, investors) and the community to identify key regional challenges and co-create solutions that benefit the community.

    GLIF will run regional marketing campaigns to raise awareness about the investment opportunities in Greater Luwero. These campaigns will target both local and international investors interested in contributing to the region’s development.

    GLIF will produce periodic reports on the economic trends, investment opportunities, and challenges facing the Greater Luwero region. These reports will inform stakeholders and guide decision-making, policy formulation, and investment strategies.
